OCI / GSE just wrapped up the install of (2) 100-ton GERB Vibration Control Systems. Now that the 70th floor had all shoring removed from concrete pours above – our GSE crew returned two weeks ago to finish the job. The challenging part was that the tower crane was no longer available and we had to bring 132 Mass Plates up in the hoist and rig each plate into position by hand. The plates were two inches thick ranging from 5,000 pounds to 2,500 each. The TMD’s are now fully functioning.

This tower is located in the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District. When completed Rafael Viñoly- designed building will stand 88 stories and 912 feet to its rooftop.
